I think atproto apps that have server side oauth should also have a “I’m feeling lucky” button that picks a random oauth session and logs the user into with it. Pros: if the user doesn’t know what to do with the handle input they’re getting logged in one way or another Cons: none come to mind

The frustrating thing about this is that when you "Login with Bluesky", you're not even actually logging in with Bluesky The App. You may be using a Bluesky PBC-hosted PDS, but it has nothing to do with @bsky.app, other than it's the PDS you're assigned when you create an account on their client.

i tried to test out the server config on my laptop and it immediately bricked itself. rebooted, reverted to previous build, safety. i like NixOS.

Meanwhile, on Bluesky, Blacksky, and the rest of the Atmosphere, you can just go to @graze.social, prompt for different feeds, and generate custom feeds for specific interests instead of playing algorithm roulette with a single feed. Then, you can share it with others so they can enjoy it as well.

This is the natural conclusion of the "Login with Bluesky" argument. People make apps where only Bluesky users can login.

Until December of last year I was using LLMs as fancy autocomplete for coding. It was nice for scaffolding out boilerplate, or giving me a gut check on some things, or banging out some boring routine stuff. In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code. Things are changing. Fast

A year ago, I thought LLMs were kind of neat but not that useful. I saw the code autocomplete and thought, meh. Last summer just flipped. I never ever thought I would see automated code generation like we see now. I know there’s baggage but you need to know the coders are being real about this
