Missed the actual day of this anniversary but man, if you weren't there you maybe don't know what a big deal it was when this game came out. There hadn't been a new 2D Mario since Super Mario Land 2. Mario games in general were few and far between at this point! This basically revived the series.

Currently watching this and she raises many good points. When I started Vtubing, I knew I wouldn't blow up for multiple reasons (chiefly: no corpo backing so had to work my way up from zero), so I decided I'd do my own thing. I believe that has helped me immensely in the long run.
