Something I've been getting drilled into me via Improv is that explaining your worldbuilding just kills the pacing. Seeing the story exists, letting it texture your gameplay experience, is often all you need. The audience aren't your parents, you don't need to explain yourself to them!

The thing with Star Fox is that before Command happened there was actually a pretty cool progression of lore. 64 had lore but it kept it far enough in the background that you kinda have to draw your own conclusions about what happened in Cornerian Academy or whatever.
