Our Constitution is written in ways that are supposed to "guarantee" due process, including a TRIAL and a jury of one's peers. And to prohibit cruel and unusual punishment. These aren't "citizen" rights, they're EVERYONE rights.

These kinds of laws have an invisible ripple effect across the country. A good number of corporations will just change their policies instead of making a NYC-specific protocol. A lot of the consumer protections we have started in one state or big city.
