An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs. Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker. Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps. Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

The average SNAP payment is $177 per month. That's $2,124 a year. Anyone who thinks you can keep a pantry stocked with that hasn't been in a grocery store since 1977.

Thinking about how poor disabled and aging people may be impacted this is a multitude of ways–they may not be able to get food, and their care workers may not either (for those who have them), leading to less good support for disabled folks as starving people don't make the best workers.

1/ I'm sure you've heard by now, but on Friday, about 1,300 CDC employees, including top scientists & vaccine experts, were abruptly fired. In a stunning reversal the next day, hundreds were then reinstated. We're not sure why the administration reversed course, but the damage has still been done.
