"We're talking about Black people who go to work and are still ... sleeping in their cars with their children."

"[I]t's ... hard to see where the interests of ICE end and those of private prison companies begin. They're so intertwined that it's hard to see a separation between them."

"At [NYC's Israel Day P]arade, [Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel] Smotrich said that the event 'reminds me of the Jerusalem Day Flag March' ... an ultranationalist event celebrating the illegal occupation of Jerusalem in 1967 that is marked by attacks on Palestinians and calls of 'Death to Arabs.'"

A friend walks on water.

"We now live in a world where ceasefire means that Israel can continue bombing, and that we can keep reaching ceasefire agreements within ceasefire agreements without all of this meaning any real protection ... During the ceasefire Israel is erasing complete villages and historical sites[.]"

"The proposed data center — being pushed by celebrity investor [Kevin] O'Leary — prompted intense public backlash after its plans began moving forward ... [O]utcry over its scale, energy consumption, emissions and potential water use has grown to one of the biggest controversies Utah has ever seen."

Cassie wants more fun.

"[S]upport the [hunger] strikers and uplift their demands, which are to have the governor speak to them, to release people in vulnerable conditions ... and to let doctors into units 2A and 2B, where people have been in need of urgent medical attention that's been denied."

Cassie worries at what's right.

"Detransitioning is the stopping or reversal of transitioning care ... [I]t is [extremely] rare for people to regret transitioning after taking hormone therapy and surgical interventions. Common reasons for detransitioning include lack of family support, financial barriers and social pressure."

A friend rides alone.

"The data center is part of the $500 billion Stargate Project, announced by Trump at the White House last January ... Its aim is to build out AI infrastructure and data centers across the U.S. The Pentagon plans to use Stargate's infrastructure as it ramps up its use of AI for the military."

Cassie walks over water.

"Congress must not sign away unchecked spying powers to the government ... Trump's top spy is a man whose primary qualification is his willingness to weaponize sensitive information held by the government against [Trump]'s political enemies."

A friend leaves a wake.

"[W]e had hoped that the announcement of the ceasefire would ease [the] suffering. Israel, however, has only used it to divert the world's attention, and has ... continued its policy of killing, displacement, deprivation, and destruction that has been in place since the very first day of the war."

Cassie holds an ear back.

"Israeli troops are continuing to push deeper into Lebanon ... [A] lot of Lebanese look into what's happening in the Gaza Strip, and worry that it could happen to them[.]"

Cassie inspects the earth.

"The Justice Department announced the creation of the fund ... as part of a legal settlement between Trump and the IRS over leaked copies of his returns during Trump's first term. The settlement included provisions that precluded future IRS investigations into Trump and his family."

Cassie considers her descent.

"[Rep. Tom Suozzi's] comments are bone chilling ... [E]very LGBTQ New Yorker should be put on notice that Tom Suozzi is no friend to our community."

Cassie renders ripples.

"[The] wealthier ... are not as affected by higher costs on goods as middle-class or low-income households. Indeed, many economists are describing conditions today as a 'K-Shaped Economy,' wherein the financial situation of those with higher incomes improves while the rest of the country struggles."

Cassie stays on the path.

"[U.S. DoD] reports showed that the U.S. had used more than 1300 Patriot interceptor missiles during the war [on Iran], and that the military had depleted much of its stockpiles ... Kuwait, Bahrain, and the [UAE] have collectively fired about 600 Patriot interceptor missiles throughout the war[.]"

Cassie slips into a state.

"[Some at the Al-Amal Institute for Orphans] were trapped beneath the rubble for days without food or water, while others had watched their parents bleed to death before their eyes ... More than 120 children have also reportedly been killed since the beginning of the so-called ceasefire in Gaza."

Cassie shines by the greens.

"We are facing a critical moment for trans rights and civil rights more broadly. ... [W]e must hold each other up. We are in this shared struggle together, fighting the same power-hungry officials who are making things better for themselves and worse for us."
