In June, an ACIP member said that 250 pediatric flu deaths were no big deal. Maybe today we will find out that a handful of hepatitis B related cancers, transplants, and deaths are also not a big deal to them either. Welcome to the new public health. We are aligned to a manifesto, not science.

NO TRUST IN ACIP! Well, the absolutely incomprehensible vote at the end of the ACIP meeting has left everyone confused. MMRV resolution passed, so it’s off the schedule for younger children and CMS won’t cover it.

Sec Kennedy said he doesn’t know how many people died of COVID in the US. But cites what percentage of world COVID deaths occurred in the US. US deaths divided by worldwide deaths X 100. So either he knows how many people died in the US or doesn’t know percentages.

Daskalakis: There is a program called Vaccines for Children. It is the safety-net program that gets vaccines to kids. Over 50% of kids in the U.S. get their vaccines through this. If the ACIP says this vaccine should not be given to six-month-olds through 12-year-olds, the VFC won’t buy it
