It's Whopper Wednesday! This week, we take on RFK's claim that food allergies might be caused by aluminum adjuvants in vaccines. (News flash, aluminum salt adjuvants in vaccines are safe. Removing them will decrease vaccine effectiveness, leaving our children vulnerable to infectious disease.)

There’s misreading happening around vaccines. The ACIP contends that vaccines are not necessary if the risk is low & in many cases cause harm. This is actually the opposite of what vaccines are designed to do. They prevent disease & are a feat of science. It’s misinformation disguised as science.

I woke up this morning to see that many states across the country have decided to #REJECT the decision to scrap the #HBV vaccine birth dose by #ACIP. Here are some (alt-text included). But who will be left behind? 1/

And more and more individuals, especially Black and brown people, will be in danger of being criminalized based on their Hep B status. In a country that targets people for punishment based on their health status, failing to protect kids from Hep B is a disgusting and violent choice.

An important new paper by @jonshaffer.bsky.social et al. has examined the impact of strict state abortion bans on EMTALA violations. In Texas, they observed a significant increase in these violations after the state passed a strict abortion ban. This endangers those with an obstetric emergency.
