I think a lot about how much less ridiculous some of the rules of kashrut would be - both Pesach kashrut and regular kashrut - if they hadnāt all been invented by men who had never cooked a meal or managed a kitchen.

The fight for trans kids isnāt over. Itās just not. The Court did not rule that conversion therapy bans are unconstitutional yesterday. It just didnāt. Anyone saying otherwise is helping the conservative legal movement to mollify people. Peace out.

Meanwhile states can rewrite their bans. Another lawsuit can be filed. It took four years for Chiles to get to SCOTUS on a preliminary injunction motion. There's time to do something about this. We have to push Democrats HARD. We can't have a nominee without a court reform plan. That's my opinion.

It's a shitty ruling. No question. And I know "court reform" sounds like something Democrats won't ever do and perhaps that is also true. But I refuse to let ADF win by default because everyone thinks the fight is over. Our way out of most of this *waves hands around* horseshit is court reform.

Take two minutes to watch this or click through to Imaniās Patreon and read the transcript. This is a very narrow ruling, and the fight is far from over.

I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of the ruling. But it is limited to one lady in Colorado who may get a preliminary injunction allowing her to perform conversion talk therapy. It's a narrow ruling. The merits are still live. We gotta live in that narrowness. ADF wants us to despair.

Over and over the message this administration sends to federal employees is "Break the law, and so long as you're doing it to support our political causes, we'll let it slide." It is a recipe for corruption and impunity. Discipline has to mean something.

Honestly, the imperial presidency is the defining problem of our republic. He is, at most, one third of our government, not the team captain, not the leader (also the branches are not 'co-equal;' congress is supreme).

You can stick some stamps on a potato and the Post Office will mail it, you think the President has the authority to ban them from carrying election mail which is completely lawful? Ha! What a waste of taxpayer money. Just disgraceful stuff.

This is what we call an "easy case" for a lawsuit; the idea that the President can order the Post Office to adopt rules refusing to carry mail-in ballots that don't conform to the President's preferred design. Laughably, obviously unconstitutional if USPS tries to go forward with it.

Friends, you get to be mad. You are allowed to be incandescently angry. What you donāt get to do is take that anger out on anyone you feel like. Thatās just not something adults are allowed or encouraged to do. Itās definitely not something that contributes to a functional society.
