I was asked to pull together a review of all of our remaining Orion work that needs to be completed to be ready for flight. I was given a week to do it with the results to be presented at a 4:30pm Friday meeting. The 1-hour scheduled review lasted for 2.5. The whole team putting in extra hours.

Can’t think of a better stadium name that reflects the quality of the team on the field.

For this #stunday, here’s an evening shot of the Tetons from Grand Teton National Park. Just a fantastic place to visit. I spent a good deal of time trying to get a picture of a moose. Wasn’t successful but that’s okay.

For this holiday season, we’re going to starve the hungry, force families to be separated, prevent people from getting health insurance, and not pay ~1.4 million federal workers. Really hitting all the Ebenezer Scrooge checkboxes.

I’ve known I wanted to work in aerospace since I was 10. My mom brought me home an art kit that let you draw aircraft. Then in high school, I started drawing spacecraft blueprints, coming up with designs and layouts. Astronaut Andrew Allen spoke at my high school & I knew where I wanted to work.

The paperwork is killing me.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

Trying to schedule a aJSC tour for a friend the week of Thanksgiving. Had to tell them no tours allowed if the shutdown is still going. Really sad that that’s not an inconceivable possibility.

Been getting up at 0300 all weekend for my shift. Whenever I think about it, all I hear is Robin Williams. What’s the O stand for? Oh my god, it’s early.

Someday when I write down the story of how I supported Artemis II, the weirdest part may be digging through the collection bin of the facility vacuum, trying to find a tiny lost clamp. It wasn’t there. Found a dead frog though.

Worked 2nd shift on another Artemis II sim last night. We had 1 Phillies level failure - momentarily lost power to half the spacecraft, 1 Eagles level failure where we were at risk of tumbling into oblivion, and 1 Flyers level failure of a more innocuous loss of communication

Today my boss caught me in the hall & asked where I was headed for the weekend. Then told a story about how he attended a Phillies game & was shocked by how much the fans booed their own team when the pitcher had a rough 2nd inning. Of course, I said, they gotta know when they need to do better.

Catching up on season 3 of Apple’s Invasion. Continues to be a pioneer in the genre of alien invasion shows that do not feature aliens. The best thing about this show is the title theme.

My oldest went to a play in London for which she made the promo art, my middle daughter marched with the Eno River rugby team in a pride parade in NC, and my youngest went to Homecoming with her best friends. The kids are alright.

I drove for over 24 hours straight to go less than 300 miles with a 9 month old baby in the car. It was awful and changed how/when we would decide to evacuate from a hurricane.

Good overview of the mission and the challenges the team has/is working with a good summary of the heat shield issues the team worked through.
