My favorite kind of Easter post is something like, “Have you Christians considered that a person can’t just come back from the dead?” Like that hasn’t been a point of contention since the first Easter morning.

There is a path. It’s the path that Michael Vick walked. He has worked with the Humane Society for the last 17 years to educate folk about animal cruelty. He says he’ll do that work for the rest of his life. Call me when Louis or Kanye devotes even one weekend to making reparation.

Yesterday at church the reader (age 12) was particularly good, and I just keep thinking about the importance of engaging with art and text, reading, reading aloud, discussing artworks critically. I don’t know that I agree that “meeting people where they are” is always the way! ⚓️

Fave parts of church today: - staff children's minister had a family emergency, so volunteers rallied behind a 19 y/o who led all the children's programming with their help - we're using ANZPB for Lent, which still has the Filioque in the Creed, and somebody noticed & we had a great convo about it ⚓

So a fun thing I’ve been finding out this week is how much long term care facilities rely on free assistance from the church.
