Selling a house in the ~most expensive~ part of Ireland wonât get you the price of a new apartment So much for govt plans to build tens of thousands of small expensive apartments, with the notion that current homeowners will sell & âfree up family homesâ for young people

Iâm supporting Connolly, but I know some on the left feel they canât and I respect that view even if I donât share it. They are also âunrepresentedâ in the election but I have seen precisely ZERO of them claim the process itself is undemocratic. Only the far right feel entitled to a candidate.

In fairness to Maria Steen it's a tough tightrope to walk to find nominees who hate women enough to support the Iona Institute but not so much that they wouldn't nominate one.

1. Fuck these guys. 2. "people of Ireland who feel ignored" - you're not talking about sexual assault victims, children on waiting lists for disability services, emigrants and renters. You're talking about Fergal! Fergal is cross because he saw an ad for broadband on TV with a mixed race couple.

The reason I'm concerned about Maria Steen being on the ballot isn't that she will win (she won't). My worry is that if she is nominated, it will mean a month of national airtime for a hate campaign against vulnerable groups, carried by a media too scared of being sued to call it what it is

My two cents: McGregor was facing complete and utter humiliation at the DCC tonight. Not only was he not going to get nominated, he was barely going to get a vote, meaning his whole "DIS IS WHAT DA PEEPLE WANT!!" schtick was about to crumble. So he did what he always does - he tapped.
