Btw, it should be noted in all this that Steen is a controversial figure who ran a very rushed and sloppy campaign. I maintain that if we had seen a proper campaign from someone like Michael McDowell, he would be easily on the ballot and polling competitively.

Well that's the end of that nonsense and the serious election can now begin. Must say though, it has been extremely depressing to spend the last few weeks having to listen to certain politicians pretending that they don't understand how representative democracy works.

Either nominating people for the presidency who you disagree with and won't vote for is very bad and constitutes an endorsement of their positions, or is a noble sacrifice to protect democracy. A lot of people want to have it both ways right now!
