If I could just say one more thing about this: this is the most significant case on access to asylum to come before SCOTUS since 1993. If the court rules for the government, it will nullify the text of the current asylum law and make asylum inaccessible at the border. It’s a really big deal.

WOW. 19 people, all who were imprisoned and mistreated in a foreign prison at the direct command of the United States, are brave enough to say “We are innocent, and we will endure more time imprisoned to prove that.” I can only admire the enormous courage such a move takes.

Very very glad he's there. But I want to remind people that Dilley operated as a family detention center from late 2014 when it opened under Obama through 2021 when the Biden admin ended family detention by shifting it to single adult detention. Trump has made it worse, but it started very bad.
