Hours after this story went out yesterday, workers outside Delaney Hall enclosed the open air waiting room, giving families a little more protection from the elements during the long wait outside the facility to see loved ones.

It's pretty fucking fearless to go back and do your goddamn oversight visit where they last framed you for assault.

It's absolutely something I suggest to the organizations I work with. Most platforms are structurally hostile to what we do.

"I kept shouting at them that she was from here, but they wouldn’t listen to me." – Dulce's 17-year-old sister. This is the reality for so many families. A U.S. citizen sits in detention because ICE is allowed to arbitrarily deny the authenticity of documents like a birth certificate.

Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales was born in Maryland. She has a valid U.S. birth certificate, medical and immunization records, and sworn affidavits. Yet, ICE claims her documents are “not authentic” and has held her in immigration detention for days.

Today I received FOUR death notifications for people in ICE custody. That's 30 deaths since Trump took office. It's appalling & unacceptable.   ICE is required—by law—to ensure detainees are safe & their basic needs are met. It's clear this isn't the case. We NEED answers.

The TPS program lets immigrants who are already in the US stay longer if their countries are devastated by war, natural disaster, or other harsh conditions. Trump is dismantling it and forcing those people back to danger.
