Every few years you hear about US troops killed in Africa and for a minute we pay attention to the US military presence there, our bases, alliances, the way US interventions add to instability, and then we in the US forget, only to be told that itās good that Trump is dropping bombs for peace.

The purposes of immigration jail are "supposed" to be 1) make sure ppl show up for court hearings; 2) protect public. It is not a criminal sentence. When govt arrests ppl who are not dangerous at court hearings, they prove it's about punishment. That's illegal.
