i am the chair of @sd60dfl.bsky.social, myself, our ex committee & the leadership of SD62 & SD63 have spent 100s of hrs attempting to make Feb 3 caucuses equitable by encouraging @dfl.org to prioritize nonattendee delegates sheltering in place. this is not enough. feb 3 caucuses MUST be virtual.

The @dfl.org Party not having a plan for contactless caucuses will literally distort the vote. The DFL claims to be representative of ALL communities, but Richard Carlbom's decisions, or lack thereof, prove otherwise. How is he going to prove that caucuses actually represent the will of the party?

Don’t listen to this political strategist. There are literal families who are starving, people who do not have enough for rent, businesses with eviction letters, and neighbors who are hiding. Help communities out instead and it will actually have an impact.

The DFL treats its volunteers so poorly. My friends ran caucuses and city convention last year with NO support from the state party. Now this person from Arizona is shaming us for criticizing the state party as it fundraises off our trauma.

Completely agree. In-person caucuses are cruel to terrified neighbors. And offering Non-Attendee Forms as an alternative is a false option, you don't get the same opportunities to support your candidates that way.

This is shockingly out of touch, please donate your money to the communities that are being attacked by masked federal agents. Also, in-person precinct caucuses are a terrible idea, there are immigrant families who haven’t left their houses in weeks.

The intimidation we've been under is real. Even if you are just observing with a camera phone, you are treated with contempt and assault. Teenagers walking out of school like normal are met with tear gas. They want us to let them operate in darkness.

Years ago on the DFL Party Affairs Committee, I got us to set up "office hours" zoom calls for people to ask questions, prior to and on caucus night. We had a ton of calls and were able to help people all over the state. We used their questions to develop things like a walking subcaucus math 1/

Not even Daddy Warbucks could donate enough money to cover the cost of all the hours that volunteers put into the DFL. Pandering to donors at the expense of volunteers may look good on the balance books for now, but it will cost the party far more in the end.
