One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.

The sociopathic tone of glee and mockery is bad enough, but that's really not the worst of it. He made up a claim that a Trump supporter had done it, *in order to say that would be good and justified.* Unambiguously telling his most insane cult followers that murdering his opponents makes him happy.

Shocked by the awful death of Rob Reiner. I spoke with him for over an hour last night. We talked about his work and his plans for the future. I always enjoyed his company. We met at his Dad's in 1975. Last thing he said to me was "See you next year.." Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man.

If your takeaway from today is that Trump is somehow sympathetic to left wing views or can be "fixed", or that MTG is "saying good things" and "could be an ally", you are a gullible mark, and you lack the ability to discern facts from your wishful thinking

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. Thatâs how this works.
