What we're seeing in the "don't sign up for protests" discourse is what Paulo Freire described as the convert's failure to trust the knowledge of the oppressed. As the convert tries to stand in solidarity with the oppressed, they refuse to let go of a world where they were the authority by default.

To be clear, it wouldn't be effective because of the violation of your rights: it would be effective as a violation of the racial contract (read Charles Mills here) which presumes that white people should not and cannot be the subject of the kind of violence done to people of color.

Your whiteness provides a measure of protection against state overreach due to how whiteness is not seen as a legitimate target for state violence. Even if you were designated a legitimate target vis a vis "antifa" the sight of you (a white man) being dragged from your home would be effective here.

Now, even if we grant that the FBI only wants to "talk" and not throw us in a hole somewhere, the only way your suggestion might work is if you, a WHITE MAN with a platform, forced this conflict, had a social media team ready to film it, and then released the videos to your social media feeds.
