Dad running for NY-02 to make Long Island more affordable for working families.

pinned post!
Long Island deserves a Representative who fights for working families and stands up to Trump’s attacks. Meanwhile, Andrew Garbarino can’t even wake up to vote. I'm running for Congress because I know we can fight our way out of this. Be a day 1 donor:

There is no constitutionally legitimate scenario in which we are being de facto governed by the White House Deputy Chief of Staff using a half-dead president as his sock puppet. We went out of our way to amend the Constitution on precisely this point.

Ahead of launching a war on Venezuela, the US would like to announce that no one in Venezuela should help US forces, it'd be stupid to do so, the US will denigrate you and screw you over no matter how much you help, and blame you if even one Venezuelan who also helped the US ever does something bad.

That's great, and I'd have replied to your QT but you don't enable that, the problem here is AI isn't actually meaningfully replacing labor we're short on! Not to the degree that it would justify this sort of economic focus!

I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood. She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

The GOP entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to gerrymander everyone else, and nobody was going to gerrymander them. In half a hundred places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

There are 50,000 food insecure children in Maine and 2 trans athletes. Every single candidate running for office who can drum up concern about the latter but has nothing to say about the former is telling on themselves. They don’t care about children. Only power. And they’ll hurt kids for it.

Why is it so hard for this man to admit that he got it colossally wrong by putting partisan politics ahead of science, medicine and the health and safety of the people of this country? Politicians would earn so much more respect if more would openly admit when they get things disastrously wrong.

The thing about Carville's piece is that it's a perfect example of the way centrists can't write literally anything without getting in a few jabs at the left/minorities. It's entirely possible to run on "economic rage," sure. There's no need to go, "And remember what some people on Tumblr said??"

Because the Liberal Currents writers have actual values, they are, almost uniquely among media, able to react our fascist moment not by asking “What if all our beliefs are wrong? What if we went too far with all the democracy and fairness stuff?” but by asking “How do we beat the fascists again?”
