Listening to the song "This Is Radio Clash". What are the first few notes? They're a really familiar tune, used for Hallowe'en or scary spiders in TV shows and movies. I've heard it many times before. Also used on the track "Monsters" by The Sugars.

Another Christmas issue, this time Sbec for S4C in Wales in 1983. Any idea who the ones at the top are or what the programme is?

Also looking at Television Weekly for Wales and the West, Christmas 1959. Who are the middle two stars in the top row and the middle star in the 2nd row?

Urgh, why is finding archive material so hard? At every turn, I get to another dead end. I know what I’m looking for is relatively trivial but I find it sad there’s not one big BBC or ITV archive to freely search online. Everything is so hidden. I get why (copyright) but it’s still so disheartening.

Does anyone know more information about children's illustrator Mary Kendal Lee? She did a number of drawings in the 1940s and 50s, including some Enid Blyton illustrations. Searching Ancestry and the British Newspaper Archive doesn't bring up anything.

Does anyone know the cartoonist "Scherzo" was? He was mentioned in a TV Times article in January 1959 as being a Northerner in his mid-thirties. He did cartoons for them (as well as the covers of a few TV Times Christmas Extra editions) and also for Meccano magazine in 1960.

BBC One’s Christmas idents are lovely but they’re released way too early and are still heavily reliant on a current programme. Yes, W&G are beyond criticism but please do something original which is an actual ident related to the Lens concept. Stop relying on Aardman every time.
