The Seattle Police Department has informed me that they will not follow the policy they agreed to in a settlement with the Seattle Times on public disclosure when dealing with my records requests. Instead, they are "grouping" all of my requests and responding to them, in full, one at a time.

Re: my small town drama over the upcoming levy lift, the "don't Ballardize us" comments are coming back... and you know what, Ballard has become more delightful over the last couple of years. It's had a lot of growing pains, sure. And I don't really want my town to be exactly like it! But it's fun.

I admit I'm feeling pretty good about how I spent my time this weekend. Now I have to wait and see if the hard work pays off and I don't wake up with random anxiety at four thirty in the morning.

All of these people could ride the convention circuit gravy train forever due to their previous projects. Not one of them is in an "I need to pay my mortgage" situation. Nobody is hard up here. This is really disappointing.

This isn't new or unique though... When my partner and I moved to Seattle over 10 years ago, we encountered SO much hostility as transplants. I feel like a lot of locals don't want a beloved city to change and a big way that can happen is with an influx of new residents.
