Here's my actual true opinion. The only way to fix all of this nonsense is rent affordability and health care . If people can afford the rent and get healthcare, then they can start and go to work for normal businesses, and write and make art and music. And there can be third places, etc etc.

As a former medical biller & credentialling specialist, this is one billionty percent true. A LARGE portion of practices like pediatrics, ObGyn, family medicine, and senior specialties depend on Medicaid patients. Not to mention hospitals, especially small hospitals in rural areas.

By far the biggest problem with delegating judgement to machines is the people who own the machines can tune them towards outcomes they prefer but those who don't own anything can't. It's not the technology. It's a transfer of decision making power from rational accountable systems to capital.

This isnāt the first time iāve heard this and it may explain why, despite the unpopularity of AI in polling, the pro-AI voices seem much louder. Seems possible that by convincing the bosses of AIās inevitability, itās had a chilling effect on workers who oppose it but fear for their livelihoods.

Talking shit about AI at my old job set me on a path to getting fired, because I had a "bad attitude" so other people (read: my boss) were "uncomfortable collaborating" with me. My coworkers told me personally that they hated AI but were afraid to speak up. Turns out they were right to be afraid.
