33 years too late for the kid I was. Director Chris Columbus (Home alone, Bicentennial Man, Harry Potter) wrote the original film, but without Joe Dante, I have absolutely no expectations. It was already lucky to have a good sequel.

I never thought Invasion (AppleTV) was great, but I did like the approach of the first 2 seasons, with their slow worldbuilding. But season 3 acts as a semi-reboot that hasn't kept much of what I liked. I feel like Invasion thinks it's a prestige show, but without the writing finesse to back it up.
