God, I’m really upset how much hate I know Starfleet Academy is going to get. It’s Star Trek made for the CW-style crowd, which is PERFECTLY FINE. But because it’s not intended as mass audience aimed mainly at boomer dudes, it’s gonna face so much vitriol. Especially those kid actors. Angers me.

A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

My only real complaint about Star Trek is quantity. Episodes-per-year are split between 2-3 shows, and 8-10 episodes isn't really enough to get to know and like everybody. If they went back to 1 show per year with 23-26 episodes (good and bad!) I'd be pretty happy. Bev's candle made an impact.

The windchill here is -4 degrees and I’m waiting for the bus. As I blink through the ice shards blowing into my eyeballs at 30 mph, I think about how glad I am they took the bus shelter down. At least the unhoused will have cause to reflect on how little they contributed to the economy.
