This story is infuriating. The piece goes to great lengths to establish empathy for the women who negligently killed an entire family. The idea that it's unreasonable to permanently revoke her driving privileges and make her plead guilty to a crime is fucking outrageous.

Something I really encourage people to do is conduct a walk audit in their community and really look at infrastructure through the lens of someone disabled, especially if they're using a wheelchair or other mobility aid. Things are often far less accessible than nondisabled people think.

I think I was pretty visible today when a woman pulled out of a driveway without looking and nearly hit me. I had a blinking front light too. High-viz will never be a solution for poor infrastructure and dangerous drivers.

Defending street parking for commerce ignores that a 2-meter tall SUV completely hides the business behind it. Car bloat creates physical barriers. Human-scale transit keeps sightlines clear and storefronts inviting.
