Less than a week to the Glow Ride! Wednesday 22nd, 7pm outside City Hall. Bling your bike and let's light up the night calling for safer streets and better cycle routes! Norwich is one of over 50 cities in the UK taking part, highlighting the dangers women in particular face cycling after dark.

Good to see the vegetation on the Dereham Road cycle track finally cut back. They've done a good job in clearing the vegetation well back from the path edge - by at least a metre - and have then cleared away the overgrown grass back to the original edge of the path.

The green cross code is the most disastrous public information campaign in history. It has made generations believe that pedestrians are responsible for avoiding crashes. Crashes are actually the responsibility of the operators of the massive motorised lumps of metal.

While the Internet has had an impact, the main cause of the death of high streets is the out-of-town retail park. Any council which gave planning permission to a retail park only has themselves to blame for the destruction of their city centre.
