Green Party London Assembly Member Caroline Russell told the report launch that City Hall and TfL could still be doing more to tackle the "elephant in the room" - traffic congestion. "The urgency to reduce the number of cars in London couldn't be clearer".

Interesting move from Wandsworth Council. š Maximising green time for vehicles, removing cycle wands and moving a pedestrian crossing is likely to make walking, wheeling and cycling less attractive and unlikely to deter extra car trips or fix the congestion.

It is extremely important that Labour understands that the movement of voters between Lab and Ref was not the crucial factor, it was consolidation of the anti-Ref vote and Lab voters turning out in droves. Otherwise Burnham will make the same mistakes as Starmer in targeting only one set of voters.

Emergency hospital admissions fell after introduction of Londonās T-charge and Ulez, study suggests
Imperial College scientists analysed health records before and after introduction of air pollution reduction zones Low emission and clean air zones attract controversy whenever they are proposed, but there is growing evidence that they work in improving air quality. The Bradford zone was followed by a reduction of about 25% in GP visits for heart and breathing problems and survey data shows that the central London zone was followed by a reduction in the likelihood of a person taking sick leave. Now analysis of health records has found emergency admissions to hospital reduced after the introduction of the T-charge and ultra-low emissions zone (Ulez) in central London. Continue reading...
