Sodium ion batteries are now cost competitive with lithium ion batteries, though not yet at the same energy density level, so we won't see them in EVs right away. But they perform better at low temps & there's no conceivable shortage of sodium.

In the grand scheme of things €300m is nothing. Wandsworth Council is spending £4MILLION on beautifying 100metres of a bridge underpass and the Labour government is spending £9BILLION on just 12-miles of new road

Living in a country where I'm not afraid that my neighbours or police/gov staff would be carrying guns, I just cannot fathom how my neighbours and I would react if the events of this week occurred in our neighbourhood. It's just totally incomprehensible. The UK is imperfect, but it's still great.

Wow. I'm in a webinar about the new road safety strategy, and a guy from the ADI has just said that there is no mandatory requirement for driving instructors to carry out CPD! So they could have been a driving instructor for 30 years and never have done any further learning in that time 😱

Christ! I have to complete mandatory fire safety and data governance courses every year to name just two. It's insane that driving instructors don't have to demonstrate any form of ongoing competency.

This finding of "hidden" public support for green policies strongly echoes our work on pluralistic ignorance when it comes to non-car travel: most people support non-car travel more than car travel, but at the same time they believe this is a minority view

Yet more backwards efforts by Labour on active travel and reducing car dependency. Dozens of Zipcars parked up but all unavailable due to high fees charged Labour Boroughs and TfL. A big win for private car corporates.
