In Parliament, I welcomed the shift in Africa strategy, moving from paternalism to partnership. Poverty reduction and the SDGs must be central, working with local organisations who know best. Groups like Bond play a vital role in delivering lasting change across Africa.

In Parliament, I pressed the Foreign Secretary on the devastating conflict in Sudan. The UK must do more to push for a humanitarian truce, prevent further atrocities, and support Sudanese civil society, with women’s voices part of any lasting peace.

I’ve just raised the reopening of Hammersmith Bridge in Parliament. The closure is hitting Putney, yet there’s still no date for the taskforce meeting to agree funding. This has to happen. Please join me at my public event on 24 January at 2pm.

Commuters in Putney are still paying the price for six years of Hammersmith Bridge closure. Today, I asked the Secretary of State for Transport to confirm support for reopening the bridge to vehicles and to set a date for the next Task Force meeting. We need action and no more delay.

Protecting peace in Northern Ireland must always come first. In Parliament, I stressed the importance of upholding the Good Friday Agreement and delivering answers for victims and families. Progress comes from building peace and not by playing politics.

Calling all schools! Delighted to launch new research and lesson plans to teach politics to year 10. It’s proven to increase confidence of girls and make it relevant to their lives. You can see Roehampton University’s G-Epic research here:
