This week I visited Central Park Primary School in East Ham, showcasing some of our country’s very best school food, supported by Juniper Ventures and Newham Borough Council’s trailblazing ‘Eat for Free’ initiative, which has been providing universal free school meals since 2009.

Yesterday I voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap and invest in our country’s future. The previous Government left us with a record number of children in poverty. The actions of this Labour Government will take 450,000 children out of poverty and radically improve their health and education.🌹

It was a pleasure to be invited onto The Pantry UK's podcast last month with their CEO, Luke Consiglio. Our conversation ranged from my beginnings as a Parliamentarian, to the 5 must-haves in my pantry, as well as the importance of nutrition for our schoolchildren.

It was excellent to visit the Jewish Community Council of Gateshead. The Berwick Centre, a transformed former cinema and bingo hall, hosts a great community hub for over 700 local Orthodox Jewish families with facilities such as catering, gym facilities and meeting rooms.
