Busy time at #Lab25, connecting with policy makers and member charities. With the National Cancer Plan in the final stages of development, it’s a vital time to collaborate to improve outcomes for people affected by rare & less common cancers.

Today, One Cancer Voice sets out 6 key asks for the National Cancer Plan. As a @cancer52org.bsky.social member, ALK+ UK stands with this call. The National Cancer Plan must deliver for everyone affected by cancer - including those with rare & less common cancers like ALK+ #lungcancer. #LCSM

2.92 million new cancer cases will be rare & less common. We welcome the six tests nominated by #OneCancerVoice. Focussed and targeted action in the new National Cancer Plan is needed to combat the projected increase to and provide a much-needed boost to survival rates.

We are so pleased that the Rare Cancers Bill passed its 3rd Reading in the House of Commons on Friday. This Bill could mark a significant step forward in addressing the urgent need for increased focus and research in the field of rare cancers.

Cancer52 welcomes the ambitions in the new 10 Year Health Plan for England, especially on tackling health inequalities & innovation. The focus on prevention, AI, genomics, and joined-up care is exciting - we hope that the resources will match the ambition. Read the Plan: bit.ly/46u5sUC

It was a privilege to speak with the UK rare and less common cancer community at the Big Cancer52 Conversation in Canary Wharf yesterday. I shared an update on what’s next for my Rare Cancers Bill—Committee Stage is scheduled for 2 July, with the Third Reading expected on 11 July.
