Reflecting on Ranty's (Mark's) excellent submission below, been thinking about London's Victoria Station where the bus station has four parallel floating bus stops. IIRC, at least 2 people have been killed here in recent years, yet I'm not aware of a campaign to close it. bsky.app/profile/rant...

My favourite bus stop bypass is on Sutton's A232 Croydon Road, installed by #TfL in spring 2004, here shown repainted in 2008 google.com/maps/@51.367... with a bi-di track, and vehicle crossovers to the houses. Over 20 years old, never been any fuss.
