There are places that have achieved Vision Zero. Oslo is one of them. Floating bus stops are part of the solution, not the problem. Stop making vulnerable road users fight over scraps of space while prioritizing the mode of transport that kills most.

Let me be perfectly clear. If this were to be adopted, then that's it for building cycle tracks in the UK in most situations. Her amendment would force more people into cars which would perversely make it worse for bus reliability and of course be exclusionary itself. 6/n

We have also submitted written evidence today. We are extremely concerned about these exclusionary amendments which would make comprehensive safe cycling for children, families & many disabled people impossible.

In her first speech as transport secretary, Heidi Alexander mentioned she was proud of the cycle lanes on Evelyn St & Jamaica Rd from her time as Deputy Mayor for Transport in London. Both feature bus stop bypasses as you can’t have a safe cycle network without them, a point clearly made here👇
