In Kensington Gardens lies the Elfin Oak - a tree which is inhabited by an assortment of elves, fairies, goblins, witches & forest animals 🧝 We have recently undertaken conservation repairs to the Grade II listed structure. As part of the works, 97 figurines were expertly and sensitively restored 🖌️

Our Volunteer Rangers roam the parks and man information points, working in pairs to welcome the public and help them get the most out of their park visit 🗣️ So far in 2026 the Bushy Park, Greenwich Park, The Regent’s Park and Richmond Park Volunteer Rangers have engaged over 33,000 park visitors 👏

May is certainly a popular time for the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park 😅 We wanted to shine a light on a different area of the plantation - that being the bog garden, which is bursting with colour at the moment 🪻

We recently welcomed Sue Biggs CBE, former Director General of the Royal Horticultural Society, to St. James's Park, to plant her namesake Magnolia ‘Sue Biggs’ 🌳 The variety was named by the RHS to recognise her contributions to the horticultural industry. Sue planted it with Park Manager, Mark.

To mark the State Opening of Parliament events have been held in St James's Park & The Green Park 💂 After the Crown Procession members of The Royal Family travelled to the House of Lords as His Majesty King Charles III delivered the Kings Speech 👑 A 41 Royal Gun Salute was also fired at 11.15am 🐴

OTD in 1945 WW2 came to an end in Europe 🕊️ Even after more than eighty years, we are still familiar with images of jubilant crowds packed on to the Mall and surrounding Buckingham Palace 🎉 The Royal Parks played their role during WW2, with one in particular helping to secure Allied victory 🔽

Happy birthday to Sir David Attenborough - who turns 100 today! 🎉 Sir David has a strong link with Richmond Park - with his favourite tree in the whole world being found here 🌳 He has also undertook several filming projects in the park while in 2023 Sir David opened a brand new woodland here.
