The Gorton and Denton by-election will be another to add to the tally of similar recent razor thin election victories demonstrating why election ad regulation is critical. The campaign code of conduct the government promised needs to include elections ads and be in legislation.

Nope wrong again I'm afraid ... the rules are rubbish only the promoter is required. One of our recommendations is to change this.

The misleading ads we are seeing in Gorton & Denton feels like a taste of things to come in the general election ... ...unless the code of conduct the government has promised makes it into the representation of the people bill / election bill as legislation.

Anyone can send as many misleading leaflets as they want (within spending limits) as there are no rules for election ad content 🙃

Well this is a good case study in how effective X's moderation systems are post Musk's takeover and automating much of it. X's systems are labeling and sanctioning our account for inauthentic activity. You couldn't make it up.
