It was wonderful to visit The Charter School East Dulwich recently to see their new campus, including their excellent ASD provision with spaces for 25 pupils. I also spoke with student leaders about their roles representing their peers in school and answered questions about life as an MP.

This HeartUnions Week, I’m proud to have backed the biggest upgrade in workers’ rights for generations. When I was a lawyer, I fought for the rights of people who had been discriminated against at work. Labour is ensuring workers have fairness, dignity, and opportunity at work.

Israel must fully reopen all crossings into Gaza so vital international aid can reach those who need it. The UK will continue to provide essential medical supplies and food, but far more is required. And aid workers must be able to operate safely and freely on the ground.

It was great to meet with the Chair of the Bar Council, Kirsty Brimlowe KC, yesterday to discuss the key challenges facing the criminal justice system and what can be done to increase diversity in the legal profession.

Labour’s Local Power Plan is the biggest investment in community energy ever with up to £1bn for local projects. It will let communities run their own solar and wind schemes, cut bills, and invest in their neighbourhoods. ⚡️

Last week I met with Nabiha, a @ukparliament.parliament.uk Teacher Ambassador from St George’s Primary School in Forest Hill. Involving young people in politics is so important for our democracy and this vital programme helps teachers to do exactly that.

Female Genital Mutilation is abhorrent and on International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM I want to make it clear: we are committed to tackling perpetrators and strengthening the criminal justice system – to better support victims and increase prosecutions.

Tackling violence against women and girls is my number one priority. In Parliament today, I paid tribute to @jadeblueldn.bsky.social who has helped drive an expansion to the Victim’s Right to Review pilot, giving victims a second chance for justice.

Last night, I proudly voted to scrap the Tories’ two‑child cap. This will lift almost 1,800 children in Lewisham West and East Dulwich out of poverty. It showed our Labour government putting our values into action and delivering real change for the most vulnerable.

Great to speak with Jane Garvey and Fi Glover on Times Radio about the Victims’ Right to Review. This change gives victims a stronger voice and a genuine second chance at justice. All part of our ambitious plan to halve Violence Against Women and Girls within a decade.

We promised to stand with leaseholders, and today Labour has delivered. Ground rents will be capped at £250, saving families in Lewisham West and East Dulwich hundreds of pounds a year. And with the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill we will be going even further.

Today we mark Holocaust Memorial Day and remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, along with all victims of Nazi persecution. We must ensure they are never forgotten and teach future generations the lessons of the Holocaust.

I signed the Holocaust Education Trust's Book of Commitment to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. With antisemitism rising in the UK and around the world, we have an even greater duty to teach future generations about the Holocaust and ensure the victims and its lessons are never forgotten.

It was brilliant to be part of the Royal Photographic Society's 40% project. A big thank you to Eve Milner for her wonderful photographs. For the photos, Eve asked me to choose somewhere that was personal to me and the constituency. The Horniman's was the obvious choice!

While out in Forest Hill this weekend, I heard how Thames Water keep letting residents down. I met with them last year after thousands had their water cut off for days. I’ll be meeting them again to raise the Dulwich outages and the icy burst‑pipe conditions in Forest Hill.
