I welcome the decision taken by the Government yesterday to officially recognise a Palestinian State. Having been a proud signatory of Sarah Champion’s letter calling for the recognition of Palestine in July, I’m very glad that this historic step is being fulfilled.

Fantastic news from your City Council for residents in Elsmwell Gate and Glebe Farm. Building the homes we need must always come with community infrastructure such as places to play - our new estates in Milton Keynes Central show how it’s done.

What a lovely afternoon spent dropping in on the Armed Forces Walk-In session which are being held in conjunction with Milton Keynes City Council. These sessions provide those who are still serving, veterans and reservists a safe place to access face to face support services.

This weekend it will be the Milton Keynes Job Show, the biggest job show in the region! The event will be a great opportunity to meet 80+ employers including Milton Keynes based companies and organisations such as the Open University and Milton Keynes City Council.

Following on from the exciting news that a new lease has been signed on the Milton Keynes Post Office in the City Centre, it has been announced that a new branch of the Post Office will be opening in the Rooksley retail park Hobbycraft site!

Last week I attended the Willen Hospice quiz night in honour of Ranjit Singh. A beautiful evening spent remembering a man whose contributions to our community here in Milton Keynes will never be forgotten.

On Saturday I had the opportunity to speak to our amazing Youth Council here in Milton Keynes who were holding their elections for the member of Youth Parliament.

Debate is a part of politics but violence is never appropriate. The attack on @sharonhodgsonmp.bsky.social office is part of the growing threats. So for the second time in 24 hours, I’ll again say that violence and intimidation must have no place in politics if we want to protect our democracy.

There is no place for violence in politics, no matter how much you disagree with someone.

Proud to see that Labour-led Milton Keynes City Council is planning to become the second council in the country to offer council tax relief for those living with a terminal illness. Nobody should have to worry about the finances of themselves or a loved one during their hardest moments.

I’m very glad to hear that Ministers are using the full force of the law to punish those who commit acts of sexual assault and rape. Increased sentences for these types of crimes provide a clear message: sexual violence is absolutely unacceptable.

The Emily4MK summer programme has come to an end after yet another fab week. I’ve loved running my summer school programme this year, and can’t wait to be inspired by another cohort of young people in Milton Keynes next summer 🩷

Fantastic to speak to some of the schemes benefitting from the HS2 Innovation Accelerator. Landmark infrastructure projects like this don’t just generate economic growth through speedier commutes - they also empower SMEs to help deliver the projects, and that’s just as transformative.

Yesterday, I stopped by Royal Mail’s Brinklow delivery office - the largest of the 24 pilot sites trialling the new way of working (USO Reform). I then shadowed Delia on part of her delivery round, and snapped a shot with the sleek new King Charles branded vehicle!

I was delighted to attend TEDx Youth last week and witness such remarkable ambition and creativity from the young people of MK Central - it’s profoundly uplifting to see our next generation break boundaries, spark new ideas, and inspire us all with their passion and potential!

They’re the future of our city, so it’s vital they’re skilled up and ready to reach their potential.
