Last week in Parliament, we marked the anniversary of equal suffrage – voting is a powerful thing and I’m thinking about all the fantastic women who fought so hard so I can be in the position that I am today.

Today officially marks the end of the Vagrancy Act which criminalised people for sleeping rough for over 200 years 👏 Sending people suffering from homelessness to jail and giving them criminal records for life is not the way to tackle rough sleeping. So glad to see this archaic law repealed today.

My week! 🌟 Re-opening the Milton Keynes post office! After a long campaign the post office is back open in its central location at the heart of 12th Street and near plenty of bus stops. Alongside offering all the traditional post office services, it also now features a gift and stationery shop. 🖊️

On Sunday I celebrated International Yoga Day! 🌟 Thank you to the MK Yoga Association and MK Hindu Association for putting on such a lovely event to mark the occasion I had such a great time taking part and testing out my yoga skills 🧘‍♀️

What I’ve been up to this week! Celebrating the kick off of the World Cup (well done England!!!! 4-2 to Croatia) and the extra time for dads' campaign. Paternity leave provisions must improve so that fathers can spend vital time with their children and supporting their partner. ⚽️

There are awful reports coming in about the train crash in Bedford. We still don’t have all the details but I want to thank the emergency services for their quick and professional response. I know that this will be worrying for many in MK who use this rail line

At the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee, we have released our first report of the 2026-27 session on Rewiring the state: Delivering digital government. We must have a clear plan for a digital transformation.

This morning, I popped into support Movember’s paternity leave campaign and “kick up a fuss.” A campaign to raise awareness of the need for better paternity leave and pay for dads. Around 1 in 10 fathers face post-natal depression and do not have access to the support they need.

Today marks 10 years since Jo was murdered. She was on her way to help her constituents. Jo inspired me in so many ways and her drive to make change lives on. It was honour to speak about her as an incredible friend, mother and public servant last week alongside so many other MPs.

Great news! Milton Keynes College is getting £1 million in funding from the Government to support refurbishment and repair works. MK College has played a role in the educational journeys of so many across this city, giving them access to opportunities, learning and training.

The rise of technologies such as AI must happen alongside the input of women, we have seen how these technologies can revolutionise but also degrade. The use of AI apps to nudify women online is completely unacceptable.

Last Friday we held the finals of the MK School Debate: Shenley Brook End vs Hazeley! Both schools did an incredible job defending their sides and put forward knowledgeable and assured arguments – ultimately, we saw the 2026 crown go to Hazeley, congratulations to their amazing team!

It was lovely to meet the team at Esquires Coffee which recently opened on Glebe Farm! A coffee shop will have a huge role in creating a social centre for the community here in Glebe Farm ☕️ What a perfect spot to stop for a bite to eat between talking to local residents on canvassing sessions 🌹
