In Parliament this week, I joined ITV at their “Facing it Together” campaign event where they were raising awareness of how to spot the signs of domestic abuse and the role that loved ones can play in providing support.

This week was the annual Parliamentary Mitzvah Day drop in! Mitzvah Day is an important faith-led day of social action that addresses the needs of communities. It brings together people from all faiths and backgrounds to take part in volunteering and build strong relationships.

Last week I met with the Hong Kong Democracy Council to discuss how proposed immigration changes will affect BNO visa holders. Here in Milton Keynes Hong Kongers play a vital role in our community as mothers, neighbours, friends and so on.

So many of us in the UK want to do what we can to help the horrendous conditions in Gaza. As Chair of the cross-party group for Aid Match, I asked the Foreign Sec about the potential use of aid match to maximise the amount we can help with getting aid into, and rebuilding, Gaza.

What a lovely time spent with the gardening group including the wonderful Harold, at St Mary Magdalene Church in Willen planting the rose I won during Heritage Week! The church was designed by Robert Hooke and has to be my favourite fun fact about him.

This weekend I had a wonderful time joining in with Diwali and Hindu new year celebrations in Milton Keynes! It was lovely to meet with members of the local Hindu community, participate in festivities such as Aarti and enjoy the incredible food stalls.

It’s British Beauty Week! I had a lovely time meeting with Sam Amey, the founder of Ever After Vitality Centre and S.A.M.Clinics who was a winner of the Women’s Leadership Award 2025!!

This Labour government just made the biggest change to family law since 1989, thanks to campaigners like Claire Throssell MBE. I met Claire recently and was so inspired by her courage and strength. I’m so proud that we’ve changed the law in memory of her sons Jack and Paul.

Speaking in this morning's Westminster Hall Debate on the progress of ending homelessness was a reminder of the importance that services supporting people from rough sleeping into proper accommodation must work together to create a continuum of advice, care and support.

What a lovely morning spent with the SIT Committee introducing Professor Mahesh Anand, Professor of Planetary Sciences and Exploration at Milton Keynes’ very own Open University! It was great to see and hold the samples of moon rock brought to the Committee by Professor Anand.

Such fantastic news that Milton Keynes will be receiving £164,000 under the “Best Start” Programme to support families in our city! Across the city we have 10 family centres which are looked after by our local Labour council.

Seeing the Speak Their Name Quilts from across the UK in Parliament this week was deeply moving, each beautifully handcrafted memorial square represents someone who has been lost to suicide.

Saturday evenings are best spent supporting our incredible ice hockey team: Milton Keynes Lightning! It was great to watch the game between MK Lightning and Leeds Knights last weekend and though they may not have won this time, they do Milton Keynes proud every moment they’re on the ice.

This week the Open University along with Natwest and the Department for Work and Pensions have launched their Open Business Creators Fund – a fund designed to support women in the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey.

Friday evenings are spent best fundraising! It was great to attend the Fire Walk for MK SNAP which saw members of our community including our mayor take on hot embers to raise money for this fantastic organisation.

It was an honour to meet with the Hollie Gazzard Trust and TSB in Parliament who both play an integral role in supporting survivors of abuse and tackling violence against women and girls – a matter that is so important to our communities here in Milton Keynes and across the UK.

What a lovely evening spent at the “Wrinkles and Smiles” exhibition hosted by Age UK in Middleton Hall – an exhibition designed to bridge the gap between generations through art.

It was great to welcome the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, James Murray to Milton Keynes and host the Major Projects Association for their annual conference. As a city Milton Keynes shows the potential and possibility of place-based infrastructure projects.

The annual Milton Keynes Youth Summit is an opportunity for young people from schools across the city to come together to discuss the role of young people in our local communities and take part in skills workshops.

The GRACE project was delighted to be part of this vibrant festival celebrating the diversity of Milton Keynes. We're excited to continue fostering greater participation from diverse communities in genetic research.

This month is Milton Keynes City of Codes and Light Festival 2025 – a celebration of where science meets art, organised by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture. I had the opportunity this weekend to see the breathtaking “Mind and Matter” projection at the Milton Keynes Central Library.

What a lovely morning spent holding a Q&A with Sixth Form students from St Pauls Catholic School. It was great to answer such a range of questions including about my background in politics and the difference between the Candian political landscape and the British political landscape.
