On my bike, went to the gym, stopped by a local stationary shop on the way home to buy a thank you card, and then almost had my life taken from me by a person in a midsized SUV, blindly turning into my bike lane while distracted with their phone. Hi Bob. For 26 years and counting, I have been following a route to work on my bicycle which is 4 miles longer than it needs to be in both directions because there's literally zero provision for cyclists on the shorter route and it's occupied by impatient, useless drivers. Hope this helps.

It took me 33 mins to get to work yesterday. Today I left an hour earlier and it took 22 mins. The only difference was the volume of car traffic. It’s completely false to say that cyclists slow traffic down. It’s the cars that do that.

This #Norwich driver didn't like being asked to move back as I was trying to pass in the cycle lane. There was no-one behind at this point, but instead of reversing he said "It's 7am!". Then he said he was a "keen cyclist" himself, still not reversing to let me pass.

"If you don't allow parking on the pavement, parked cars will have to block the road!" is just shifting the externalities of the fundamental problem - that there are too many cars - onto pedestrians, and particularly onto disabled pedestrians. If there's not space to pass, there's not space to park.
