Same question but UK-based! I have a cup which doesn't leak but isn't insulated, another which is insulated but leaks, and another which is insulated and doesn't leak, but is difficult to drink from 🙄😩 Any recommendations, ideally not too £££?

After weeks and weeks of interminable rain, a couple of hours pottering in my garden followed by a cup of tea sitting in the sunshine feels like utter bliss ☺️ My sun-loving, rain-hating dog agrees!

Weekly family shop done. Cycle parking right outside the entrance of my local Lidl, the high is great. Sadly, though, I only do the shop by bike if I'm going early in the morning, otherwise the route there is too horrific to contemplate 😏

Quite incredible that anyone ever thought this was ok! Luckily, active travel funding is going to sort it out. Active travel and accessibility go hand in hand 💪

It doesn't sell papers, or ad space, or generate clicks. But for the benefit of my own mental health I have been trying to focus much more of my attention on the good news stories, the decent people, those making a positive difference to our communities in their own little ways.

What it means to live in a walkable community: you realise that you have no milk left for your afternoon cup of tea. You stroll down the road to your local shop, getting some milk and some fresh air in the process. 10 minute round trip, happy days.

An horrific incident which happened just down the road from me. I really hope the baby is ok. Earlier articles, pre-arrest, stated "woman hit by e-bike" which I thought was interesting as usually they say cyclist (as opposed to car, not driver). Willing to bet it wasn't a legal EAPC...

Spent an hour or so this afternoon weeding one of our local roadside planters. Cargo bike came in handy to lug all the weeds home to my green bin! 💚💪

Less positively (referencing previous post), had a look at this School Street today. Been in place for a couple of years now. Bollards getting repeatedly battered by incompetent & malicious drivers (yep, some are doing it deliberately!) Taxpayers will now have to pay for something more substantial 🙄

Scheme not yet complete, red top and some lining still to go on, but I cannot express strongly enough how much easier and safer this route feels compared to how it was before!

Many streets in the Netherlands once looked like those in the UK today. What matters is what happened next. Hoogeveen shows this clearly: a car-dominated main road in 2019, upgraded by 2024 with cycle tracks. Dutch roads are continuously improved to make cycling safer & neighbourhoods more pleasant

Wow. I'm in a webinar about the new road safety strategy, and a guy from the ADI has just said that there is no mandatory requirement for driving instructors to carry out CPD! So they could have been a driving instructor for 30 years and never have done any further learning in that time 😱

I've just skim read the entire Road Safety Strategy and can't see a single thing about pavement parking, which is disappointing. There's some stuff in there that I welcome, but a lot that is frankly wishy-washy.
