A new two horse race between Green and Reform in Derbyshire Council by-election, which the Greens win. Not wanting to read too much into this, but having grown up in this neck of the woods, it has always felt possible to sell a green industrial revolution as the route to change here.

Well done HM Government, this is an important and clear eyed assessment of the consequences of nature loss and ecosystem collapse. Shows we need to work with partners overseas to support sustainable and resilient food production and nature restoration.

Great speech, fortresses of nations trying to build their own energy, food and supply chains are not the answer and variable geometry with different coalitions for different issues is. I would suggest a coalition for net zero and nature positive economies would be sure fire way to resilience

As Keller says, if parties are ice cream vans in a 4-5 way battle for the beach with - let's say a barrier rather than a wall - you consolidate your base. But I agree, good to divide up the beach on more than left/right. An action/inaction on climate line would divide voters 80/20!

Don't forget folks: allowing yourself a vision of the future you'd want for our country and planet - not the one you'd settle for, not the one you fear, but the future of your dreams - isn't naive, it's a vital cognitive skill. That's how we articulate what we most value. What's worth fighting for.

And even worse, the 'reduce immigration' button has become as the 'make things better' button, with media and most parties encouraging or allowing migrants to be seen as source of our economic woes and competition for public services and jobs (and houses and anything else you want to add!)

I can't tell you how many interviews I've done where I've been asked: If Trump's policies are so problematic, why are U.S. stocks rising so rapidly. A bit of international context illustrates the real issue here. U.S. stocks have dramatically underperformed other advanced economies.

Ad stats were clearly being misinterpreted, 51% of ads featuring black people is not the same as 51% of people in ads being black! All v.obvious but helpful if stats had incl white people featured, as that would likely 95%+, and if reporting said people liked inclusive ads and they worked.

Excellent description of the box the Chancellor has put herself in. More focus on productivity is good way out. Smart use of public banks, windfall taxes and regulation on those profiting from dirty industries of yesterday and support to those investing in growing green businesses and jobs we need.

Regularising windfall taxes on oil and gas is not only necessary to fund the transition to a safer greener economy, it would also make the transition easier because each price spike wouldn't keep create major financial incentive to keep us all dependent on polluting and precarious fossil fuels

Biofuel is a small but growing part of global soybean use. Here in the US, a number of recent policy moves (higher blending mandates, tax credits, curbs on foreign biofuel imports and feedstocks) are likely to result in MORE THAN HALF of all US soybean oil being burned as biofuel next year.
