Have had meeting this morning with service provider who supports adults with learning disabilities. They raised the issue that many NHS units don't seem to have enough experience of supporting LD and autistic adults in care settings. Will pursue locally and nationally.

I have deleted a post I made which referred to 'International health system', because whilst health tourism does exist, it is not the main issue surrounding the need for stronger borders and I appreciate the post could undermine the brilliant work by many migrant NHS workers. I was clumsy. Sorry.

It was wonderful to meet with pharmacists to learn how they can support people in Chesterfield with their health. Your local pharmacy is there if you need their help so we need to be there for them.

Following @Derbyshirecc recent Ofsted on SEND education, had a simultaneously inspirational and worrying meeting at Brampton Primary, a school with a great background in supporting SEND children. But with 3 times more EHCP children than average the need for £ support is acute.

I spoke today, along with lots of Labour MPs in Commons coalfields debate. Noted that Lee Anderson was there but chose not to make a speech and only asked one question...about West Cumbria! Ashfield's former miners deserve someone who can be bothered to speak up for them.

Happy to meet doctors and specialists at @LeukUK reception in parliament. In Chesterfield over the last five years 84 people have been diagnosed with Leukaemia, tragically 39 of them have died. I want to see the survival rates increase through better data monitoring.
