It was great to be at Southwick Park with my colleagues Jess Phillips and Alex Davies Jones to see the incredible work that the Defence Serious Crime Command and Victim Witness Care Unit do. These are vital areas of the wider Service Justice System and offer victim-centred and trauma-informed work.

I am deeply saddened by the death of Captain Philip Gilbert Muldowney of 4th Regiment Royal Artillery, who died on Sunday following an incident during live fire training. He was clearly an exceptional young man & outstanding officer & I know his unit, family and friends are devastated by his loss.

We're so lucky to have Ashgate Hospice in North East Derbyshire. I hear all the time from people whose loved ones have been cared for there and how much it's meant to them It was great to welcome them to Parliament and we certainly had lots to discuss!

Yesterday I was delighted to meet the team at Forward Assist, a charity designed to improve the quality of life of service personnel leaving the military. I thank Forward Assist on their work getting military sexual assault recognised and supporting male victims of sexual assault.
