Britain is becoming more and more divided. Some of us can afford a decent life, a lot of us can't. We see different worlds through our screens. The places we live in look and feel increasingly different. Our task is to help unite this nation again.

Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

The bond rate fell substantially today as 4 MPC members voted to cut. Nothing to do with fiscal position. All to do with Bank of England. Reminder: The UK government bond rate = demand for investment + expected inflation + political risk* *(usually 0, sometimes you get Truss).

Voters in New Jersey and Virginia who said the economy was their number 1 issue voted 63-35 for Democrats last night. That’s a sharp reversal from 2024, when Trump won economy voters by 60 points

Between 2007 and 2022: - The wealth of the top 10% grew 30% faster than for average households - The wealth of 60 year olds has grown *100%* faster than 30 year olds (both are underestimates as they miss the super wealthy)

It has been two years since the appalling attacks by Hamas terrorists. Those attacks included British citizens as their victims. We stand with the Jewish community against all hatred and discrimination, the return of all hostages, and will do what we can to build a lasting peace.

Just 20% of Brits think today's youth will be have better lives than their parents. That's 'cos today's youth are stuck in a Long-term Living Standards Crisis. Not enough good jobs and not enough houses. That's why we have to create more good jobs and build a lot more houses

Everyone being able to afford a good life is a Labour value. Gabby Hinssliff rightly sets out why a paying £5 for a coffee makes a good life less affordable. That's why this government is investing to get costs down.
