Feels unbelievable to hold this thing in my hands. It began life as an article for Vice and before I’d even written a single word I’d pitched it as a book. From the interviews alone, I just knew the story was too good to not keep going beyond that initial article. That was 2020. Long time ago!

I adore the work and advocacy of Larian, and wish it extended to respecting and refining the craft used in *all* of their processes, rather than selectively eroding them with AI--especially because it's those refined processes that have produced the games so many loved over their last three titles.

Started playing Avowed over the weekend and I am unhealthily obsessed, I haven't been hooked on a big RPG like this in a while. I really enjoy the flexible combat and ability to use a pistol in one hand AND a grimoire in the other. the companions grew on me, even if they're not Obsidian's best.
