I was laid off and unemployed for around 8 months this year after working consistently as a writer in games since 2017. To say "it sucked" would be an understatement; I truly feel for everyone going through this, and don't have easy answers. All I can say is don't be afraid to reach out to others.

I don’t understand how people’s brains don’t immediately feel like they’re rotting when they look at or read stuff made by gen AI. It’s the exact opposite of what I feel when I read great writing or watch a well crafted film. GenAI makes me feel hollowed out. Well made stuff invigorates me.
