A good review but one repeating a mistake I see often: "A major factor here is Marathon's rapid time-to-kill, where an opponent with good aim can drop you within a couple of seconds." This dramatically underestimates Marathon's TTK. You are dead in Half A Second, or to MIPS guns, in one (1) frame

I had an inkling after trying Marathon, and after 150 hours of Arc Raiders I've concluded that extraction shooters are ultimately just big bonfires. Point of the game is to go get more wood. Sometimes you stop to expand the firepit, but it's all about the burn.
