Xbox is already in a tough place because of its own decisions. Laying off a bunch of people with institutional knowledge won’t save it. Asha may have a great mind for business, but she is very green in the games space. Knee-jerk reacting to loud fans does not replace actual industry knowledge.

I consider myself a consummate professional, but if you tell me you’re laying off employees under embargo, I would feel morally obligated to break that embargo as soon as possible so that employees could make arrangements. I’ve been in the mad-rush mode following a surprise layoff. It’s awful.
