In case you were curious what my opinion is about this week's new entry in the SILENT HILL franchise, I wrote some of my thoughts down for Skybox. I think you'll be able to split the reactions to this down the middle by who likes maddening stamina-combat games and who doesn't. I don't. At all.

Interesting that the reception to Silent Hill f revolves around whether or not you like Soulslike design elements and stamina-based combat that emphasizes parrying. It's weird that Silent Hill has that at all, but as someone who thinks stamina-based combat is both overdone and boring... yikes.

Gonna go even further: don't refer to it as "consuming media" when doing this. You aren't a consumer - it's not a product. You read books. You look at art. You watch movies and/or videos. Be careful about word choice. Reject "consume" and REJECT "CONTENT." IT IS ART. YOU ARE ENGAGING WITH ART.

As someone who worked at the parks pre-COVID and went back as a guest post-COVID, it's insane how much worse every aspect of the experience is now from when I worked there, and things were already on track to be worse *while I was there.*

I want to be empathetic, but I grow increasingly exhausted by the constant "nobody voted for this" when a new, unhinged, act drops. They literally printed out what they were going to do. It was readily available everywhere. We talked about it the whole election cycle. They all voted for it.
