The Goblin cave drawings and Goblin alphabet that Tolkien created for one of his Father Christmas's letters for his children. Both were drawn in 1932 when he was working on "The Hobbit", and some of the creatures from that manuscript bled to his Christmas letters.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

it's weird to live in a world where a new 'worst thing you've ever imagined' happens at least a few times a month and it's easy to let it all run together and just sort of wash over you and go totally numb to all of it so you don't freak out because you still have to do laundry and go to work.

I want art thats made by people, because i want to connect with people. I don't care if that art is made for personal reasons or for a coca cola commercial, i want to see art and think about the person who made it. How they got here. why they became an artist. What inspires them. idk.

Why am I so against generative AI in games? Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

I want to very gently say something, and I hope nobody will be mad: If somebody on the internet says something that is NOT about politics and NOT about how terrible everything is, itβs a kindness not to reflexively make a comment (in jest or not) that brings it back to those things.
